Summer Courses for 2010…
After the record success of 2009’s Mamma Mia themed summer school, Read Dance & Theatre are running a whole programme of summer courses this year - including several for adults!
24th - 25th July @ Reading - Salsa and Latin on the Lakes!
This course for adults is at our main base, The Performing Arts Institute, situated in the beautiful grounds and lakes of the Copthorne Hotel in Reading. If you’ve ever wanted to learn to Salsa, then there is no better time or place to learn! 2 days of fun and relaxed classes and dance sessions, finishing with a chance to dance your new steps on our terrace by the lakes. Suitable for all levels, whether or not you’ve had previous experience of Salsa.

Read College 5 day Summer School
The annual summer school gives students aged 14-18 the chance to work with Read Dance & Theatre College’s resident tutors and experience what life is like on a full-time Musical Theatre College course. Students will develop their knowledge of repertoire and technique in all three Musical Theatre disciplines and will benefit from the expert advice of our teachers to help them perform and audition with greater confidence and professionalism. Daily classes will include Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Singing Technique & Repertoire, and Acting Improvisation, Technique and Repertoire.

9th - 13th August @ Thatcham - Fame School
For ages 6 - 18 years. With the remake of this legendary musical having hit the cinema screens in September, we’ll be helping to reintroduce this show to a whole new generation! Come and spend the week with us working with cast members from the west end production at your very own Fame School…
16th - 20th August @ Thatcham - Wicked Week
For ages 6 - 18 years. The musical that has taken the world by storm, with productions in New York, Chicago, London, Stuttgart, Tokyo and beyond! Telling the story of the early lives of the witches of Oz, the music from this award winning show is just as fantastic to sing as it is to listen to. Join us next year for our Wicked week, to meet some of the original west end cast and work towards a mini performance.
