Our teachers are all experienced, dedicated and professional, and they're all CRB checked as well. Here's a bit more about them:

Jamie Read

Jamie Read is the Director of Theatre at Read Dance & Theatre Company and was trained by the head of singing at RADA. He has worked for over 15 years in many areas of the theatre industry including extensively as a performer, choreographer, producer, writer & teacher. London credits include Entertaining Strangers (National Theatre); Marvin's Room (Hampstead Theatre & Comedy Theatre); Hard Times (Theatre Royal Haymarket); and Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (New London Theatre).

He has taught all over the UK, including at Reading Theatre College, The Henley College, ATD and LTSC. Recent choreography includes Salad Days (London & Tour); The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Warehouse Theatre); Miss Sign-on (Edinburgh) and Dick Barton: The Devil Wears Tweed (Warehouse Theatre).

Helen Read

Helen Read is the Director of Dance at Read Dance & Theatre Company. She trained initially at the English National Ballet School, and then went on to London Studio Centre & Millennium Dance 2000. Her performing work includes Oklahoma! (National Theatre & Lyceum Theatre); Cinderella (Los Angeles) & Swan Lake (Dominion Theatre), both for Matthew Bourne's Adventures in Motion Pictures.

Helen is the co-director of the Read Dance & Theatre College, and she has taught and choreographed for many colleges, schools and companies including Reading Theatre College, The Henley College, D&B Theatre College, Magpie Dance Company, The National Youth Ballet of Great Britain and Anjali Dance Company.

Jackie Cullen

Jackie trained in South Africa in Contemporary, Jazz, Acrobatics and Tap dance with the well-established company, 'Durban Dance Unlimited.' She also trained in ballet under Winsome Fuller as well as Glynis van Blerk of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Her performances have included various music videos, arts festivals and appearances at the 'Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre' as well as the Opera at the ‘Playhouse Theatre' in South Africa. Jackie has danced at Monte Casino, The Golden Horse, Suncoast Casino, The Wild Coast Sun and for various other Sun International locations. She has performed for many companies, including 'Roots and Wings', 'Magic Moments Promotions’, ‘Kevin Ellis’ and  ‘Twisted Elegance.’ She performed in Princess Diana's 'Night of 100 stars' 3 years running, and danced in a troupe sponsored by Adidas for funk and sports aerobics. Jackie has also been a trained fire performer, performing an act mainly with a hula-hoop of fire for various promotional events.

Jackie was a regular dancer at the International Conference Centre in South Africa, supporting AIDS awareness conferences hosted by the former president, Nelson Mandela, as well as for various other corporate functions.
